The process of choosing a word can help you focus on intentions for the new year.
Instead of a rigid resolution a Word of the Year is your constant (yet gentle) reminder to focus on creating positive change. A Word of the Year can set you in the right direction by bringing more awareness to your intentions.
How do you choose a Word of the Year?
1. Start by reflecting on an area of your life that you want to shift.
2. Make a list of word choices.
3. Look for a word that is actionable.
4. Choose 1 word.
5. Make your Word of the Year visible & practice it daily.
My word for 2022 is EXPLORE.

When I look at this picture I see my mom, my dad and grandparents. I feel their stories. Their pasts are a part of me today. And their strength helps me to continue to grow and to see the beauty in each new day. They have helped me appreciate the hope that comes from new beginnings.
I love this quote by Melody Beattie to honour the beginning and it applies so well as we approach the new year.
“Beginnings can be delicate or explosive. They can start almost invisibly or arrive with a big bang. Beginnings hold the promise of new lessons to be learned, new territory to be explored and old lessons to be recalled, practiced and appreciated.
Beginnings hold ambiguity, promise, fear and hope.
Don’t let the lessons, the experiences of the past, dampen your enthusiasm for beginnings.
Just because it’s been hard doesn’t mean it will always be that difficult. Don’t let the heartbreaks of the past cause you to become cynical or close you off to life’s magic and promise.
Open yourself wide to all that the universe has to say.
Let yourself begin anew. Pack your bags. Choose carefully what you bring because packing is an important ritual. Take along some humility and the lessons of the past. Toss in some curiosity and excitement about what you haven’t yet learned.
Say your good-byes to those you’re leaving behind. Don’t worry who you will meet or where you will go. The way has been prepared. The people you are to meet will be expecting you.
A new journey has begun. Let it be magical. Let it unfold.
All parts of the journey are sacred and holy. Take time now to honor the beginning".

In this workshop you will learn:
- correct alignment for poses
- variations for poses so they suit your unique structure
- how to build more strength & stability in poses
- how to use your breath & expression in poses
- about containment and its importance in joint support
-how to learn to use poses to support your overall body systems
-about the benefits of each pose
Your structure (skeleton) governs your function (the way you move). Yoga is about using poses/positions to benefit you. It is not about trying to get your body into positions that don't support it!

Activating Your New Year! Aroma Yoga Workshop

The intention of Activating Aroma Yoga® is to cultivate the attributes of the earth, fire, and ether elements: physical grounding and energizing, mental clarity and spiritual connection. This class can dramatically improve symptoms such as lethargy, sadness, feeling scattered, stifled or stuck.
This class can help identify and clear thoughts and emotions holding us back. It can invigorate and help us take action in the direction of our dreams and desires. Essential oils penetrate the amygdala via the olfactory system - so they bypass the cognitive rational mind thereby helping to release and facilitate re-patterning of negative emotions.
We will be using the following therapeutic grade essential oils:
Frankincense
Northern Lights Black Spruce (alternative: any tree oil)
Peppermint (alternative: spearmint)
Lemon (alternative: citrus fresh or orange)

January 2022: Live Zoom Classes
Mondays @ 9:30am: Yoga for Beginners
5 Week Session: Members: $50. Non-members: $60
This class will breakdown poses and focus on alignment, breath awareness and containment in each posture. I will also teach you variations so you can use them if you are dealing with injuries or limited mobility.
Mondays @ 6pm: Yoga & Mindfulness for Pandemic Fatigue
5 Week Session: Members: $50. Non-members: $60
This class is themed weekly and includes gentle movement that can help clear out stress from your physical & emotional body. At the end of class, we will move into a short meditation and some guided relaxation to settle into deeper rest and healing.
Wednesdays @ 9:30am: Weights & Yoga
4 Week Session: Members: $40. Non-members: $48
Build bone density & lean body mass by adding weight training to your exercise regime. This class will include different weight training exercises and muscle groups each week. We will also use yoga poses that improve strength and balance and finish class with stretches for the areas that we worked.
Fridays @ 9:30am: Strength, Balance & Mobility Class
4 Week Session: Members: $40. Non-members: $48
Improve your strength & balance with yoga poses and body weight exercises. Improve joint health with mobility exercises and learn therapy ball exercises to decrease stiffness in the body and increase range of motion.
Saturdays @ 9am: Yoga for Strength & Core
4 Week Session: Members: $40. Non-members: $48
This fun and rejuvenating class is full of movement and core work to help you build overall strength. Class finishes with some stretching and relaxation.
Sundays @ 6pm: Yin & Restorative Yoga
4 Week Session: Members: $40. Non-members: $48
This class supports you to move into deeper tension in the body with yin poses. The second half of the class is restorative yoga which is designed for complete relaxation and recovery by using props to fully support you in your poses.
Sundays @ 7pm: Sleep & Slumber Session
4 Week Session: Members: $20. Non-members: $24
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that can help activate the relaxation response in your body and improve the functioning of your nervous system. It can also help your body regenerate and repair, decrease anxiety, improve your mood, help manage immune function, blood pressure, cortisol levels and induce restful sleep.
The Wellness Membership: $40/month
This is an online studio of recorded classes. It is for those who like to choose their own style of classes along with class length & time of day. Even using this 6 or 7 times a month is a super deal!
