Class Description:
This class is a great way to start off the weekend of love and self-love! Join me for a fun yoga for strength class! As we practice together, this can also support our heart to heart connection. It has been said that when a group of people move and breathe together, their hearts may actually start to beat together! Our group energy is a bit different right now but it doesn't mean we won't be able to feel it! The energy of love and energy from the heart has a way of travelling beyond time and space so we will be able to tap into it even though we are apart.
We are apart but together in that too!
This class helps build strength, improves, balance, breath awareness, core strength & flexibility.

TIPS TO SUPPORT JOINT HEALTH
Are you not moving because you’re sore and stiff or are you sore and stiff because you’re not moving?
The only way we can keep the joints supple and moving well is to move them! Movement is what stimulates synovial fluid production in the joints and that’s the fluid that keeps them slippery and moving with ease.
There are specific exercises/movement practices that are designed to help each joint continue to move well without pain! And to also help create stability around the joints. Therapy ball rolling of muscles around a joint can also help with increasing range of motion and decrease muscle tension and pain.
We need to bring awareness into our daily movement patterns because over time they are what determines what could be uneven wear and tear on the joints. Are your joints stacked when you’re walking or driving or does your head hang forward? When walking are your feet pointing straight forward or are they pointing out/in? When you stand are you leaning into your hip joint or locking your knees? We want to to contain/engage muscles and not sink into our joints. We also need to have even weight distribution on our joints because if it is uneven then we end up with more wear and tear in certain spots. And our joint capsules themselves don’t have pain receptors so we can’t tell it is happening until it is bone on bone... bone is where the pain receptors are and by then the damage has usually been done.
It is true that our structure (how we are built) governs our function (how we move) but we can work so much with our function to help our structure!
Other things that can help with joint discomfort:
Being mindful of inflammatory foods as they increase inflammation in the joints
Liquid collagen is a great supplement as collagen is a huge “building block” of a joint.
What do you do for your joint health? And do you have any favourite exercises for them?
We also have access to a great liquid collagen if you need any info on it and can also send you a therapy ball video on the house so you can experience the benefits!
Choose from:
Upper Back, Neck and Shoulders
Feet, Legs and Glutes
Neck and Face
(You can use tennis balls if you don’t have therapy balls)
