Inspiration & Last Call for December Registration❄
/Happy Sunday!
Our zoom classes were awesome! Thank you for joining and feedback was that it felt like a real in person class... and it was so nice to say hi to everyone before class and chat afterward. It really is not all that different from an in person class as far as what you see because I am still live and up front teaching. You can also choose to have your video on (so I can see how everyone is doing) or off.
I was nervous to try zoom because sometimes technology has a lot of unknowns! But it is the same thing with yoga. Practice and consistency helps! We were all able to log on and once class started you can see just me not everyone else practicing which is nice for privacy. I also mute everyone too and then unmute at the end of class so we can all have a visit. Perhaps with this situation we are currently in, there is an opportunity to set the time aside for you and your practice buddy and practice together if you are in the same family/cohort?
I am continuing classes and finding other ways to run classes for many reasons. One is to offer a way to stay connected with each other! We have a special group energy when we gather. And yesterday, the fun and joy came through the screen with the zoom classes!
I also hope to support you in maintaining what you have gained with your practice. Committing to yourself on a daily or weekly basis is so important to stay strong, keep your immune system healthy and commit to your overall OPTIMAL physical & mental health. Moving intentionally can help release negative energy, trauma and fear that builds up in our tissues. And there are so many other health benefits there are too many to list here!
Every week we have practiced together, it lifted my spirits and refueled me and I hope it did that for you too. It felt like I was not alone in all that I was experiencing with the pandemic. For that, I thank you. ❤️ There are times when I wonder if I should continue in person classes because of the costs that go into that. Also having to close a space then trying to rebuild in another one only to have a shutdown again has been really discouraging. But it is YOU that keeps me going. I will continue if there is still interest, if I can bring a smile to your faces, have some laughs and see you feeling rejuvenated and replenished after classes, even if it is on screen for now! It has always been my purpose in life to support others and to help people stay connected and make new friendships/connections.

If you wish to combine the zoom classes with the pre-recorded videos, just let me know how many times a week you would like to practice and I will figure out a deal for you! Or if you prefer just the videos that is great too.
I may run our last classes before Christmas (on December 18/19) in person if we are allowed to gather again. I won't know until December 15 what the updated protocols will be so I will keep you posted.
AND December 24-January 7 we are closed for the holiday season.
Yoga for Strength

Class Description: This fun and challenging class gives you a full body experience with yoga poses that build strength and stability, improve balance and cardiovascular health.
Strength, Balance & Mobility for Longevity
Fridays December 4, 11 & 18 @ 11am
Class Description: As we age, it is crucial to stay moving and to learn healthy movement patterns to support and maintain our body for many years to come.
In this class, you will learn specific exercises that will help support your longevity, joint health and keep you strong and moving fluidly! You will learn movement that stimulates the nutrition needed to lubricate joint surfaces and exercises that can create ease in your movement and decrease soreness and pain. We will work with proprioceptors to help improve balance to prevent falls (and if you do fall, to learn ways to get up off the floor on your own).
We will also include a few weight training exercises each class. You will learn how to lift weights correctly for specific muscle groups supporting bone density and lean body mass. There is research that shows we lose 1 pound of lean body mass after the age of 35 so it is important to maintain it with added resistance.
We will then decrease muscle tension and help increase healthy range of motion by learning to use therapy balls. You will learn different exercises for specific muscle groups with the therapy balls which you can take home with you and use any time you need!

Yoga for Pandemic Fatigue, Stress & Anxiety: Saturday @ 11am

Class Description: Most of us may be tired of the fear that sometimes comes with the unknown. It is so important to know that it is ok to feel this way and that it is possible to develop coping skills for the individual & collective fatigue we are experiencing. This is crucial for our physical & emotional health. This class will include gentle movement that can help rinse out stress from our physical & emotional body. Also, certain movement & positions have a way of either stimulating or relaxing the body. We will be implementing ones that calm the nervous system down. You will also learn coping skills that will help decrease anxiety in the body and mind. At the end of class, we will move into some guided meditation to settle into deeper rest and healing. Our body is not meant to deal with chronic stress and this class can help give us the reset we need. You will need a bolster, blanket, eye cover, block and therapy balls (tennis balls work just fine).
