New Saturday Class & Zoom Registration π

Below is an invitation for a new class! I hope to see you there. Goodness knows, I feel we all need a reset with all that is going on with the pandemic. I have experienced burnout and adrenal fatigue in my life and I know that chronic stress caused it. Stress is a silent killer. It snuck up on me so I had to find ways to calm my nervous system down and give my body and mind time to restore, reset and replenish with specific movement, positions & breathing techniques.
During the time that I was unwell, I would finish a relaxing class and feel incredibly heavy and could not believe how much my body needed it. Right now, we are also dealing with what is called secondary trauma which means we witness so much (with the help of social media and sensationalized media) that it takes a lot out of us without us even knowing it. And it all accumulates causing the body and mind to be on high alert, fight or flight, and we are not meant to have that constant stimulation. Our nervous system needs rest and relaxation..the rest and digest side of the nervous system. This is where true repair and healing happen for us.

Most of us may be tired of being cooped up & tired of the fear that sometimes comes with the unknown. It is so important to know that it is ok to feel this way and that it is possible to develop coping skills for the individual & collective fatigue we are experiencing. This is crucial for our physical & emotional health.
We know there are two kinds of stress that have long-term effects on our mental well-being and physical health β intense stress and prolonged stress and right now, we have both. Add to that the uncertainly about, well, almost everything. In the past, we have always had unknowns in our lives but a lot of the things we generally do to cope, the things we enjoy and that give life meaning, have changed or been declared off limits.
This class will include gentle movement that can help rinse out stress from our physical & emotional body. Also, certain movement & positions have a way of either stimulating or relaxing the body. We will be implementing ones that calm the nervous system down. You will also learn coping skills that will help decrease anxiety in the body and mind. At the end of class, we will move into some guided meditation to settle into deeper rest and healing. Our body is not meant to deal with chronic stress and this class can help give us the reset we need. You will need a bolster, blanket, eye cover, block and therapy balls (tennis balls work just fine).
UPDATES
With the regulations put in place by the Government of Alberta, I will be shutting down in person classes once again but will continue LIVE classes on ZOOM for now (zoom is a video conferencing app) starting this Friday/Saturday. If you wish to join a class please register ahead of time so you are sent the password to get into the class. You can register by the links below. If you have not already paid and wish to join us for class you can send an e transfer to this email of $17.
Zoom means it is a LIVE class so we are practicing together! This is a new format for me so I look forward to trying it and offering it to you and I think it will bring more of us together! It is also the only way I can offer live classes right now so I am hopeful this will work for all of you so that we can stay connected during this time.
